1. REGULATIONS

 

The VII Moscow International Children and Youth Singing Competition in Foreign Languages ​​“FaSiLa” is held as part of the Moscow International Music Festival “We are for Peace!”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

 

Acquaintance with the world musical culture is one of the most important tasks of musical, aesthetic and artistic education. The Moscow International Children and Youth Singing Competition in Foreign Languages ​​“FaSiLa” helps to broaden the horizons of the younger generation, deeply comprehend the world of musical art in all its diversity. The competition also meets the strategic objective of creating a unified musical and aesthetic environment based on the principles of network interaction between educational, musical and public organizations. Such a union will contribute to the familiarization of the younger generation with world musical traditions and the successful social adaptation of students.

The FaSiLa competition unites music lovers studying foreign languages. The project contributes to the development of a creative exchange of youth in Russia and other countries of the world, the expansion of international relations, the development of musical, intellectual and creative abilities of children and adolescents, the study of foreign languages ​​through a song.

 

 


2.  Objectives and goals of the competition

 

 

Competition Objectives:


• active familiarization of students of Russian educational institutions with world musical performing traditions;


• acquaintance with the cultures of different countries and peoples;


• increasing the level of knowledge, the development of musical abilities in children and adolescents;


• popularization of foreign languages ​​as a means of creative communication between the youth of different countries.


 

 

Goals of the competition:


• education of children and youth respect and personal interest in the traditions of the artistic culture of different countries;


• creation of conditions for creative self-realization of young musicians-performers and their social adaptation in the field of culture;


• the formation of a holistic musical and aesthetic environment that accumulates students' social and creative activity;


• Establishment of close creative ties between educational institutions, the exchange of performing and pedagogical experience;


• introducing the general public to music, contributing to the further spread of music education;


• identification of musically gifted children and the development of performing skills of young musicians.


 

 

3. The organizing Committee


The founder of the competition is the Moscow Department of Education and Science.

 
The direct organizer of the competition is the Center for Creative Development and Musical and Aesthetic Education of Children and Youth “Radost”, the leading institution of the Russian capital in the field of musical and aesthetic education of youth, the operator of the Moscow Department of Education and Science for organizing mass creative events, operator of the Department of Education and Science of the city of Moscow for the implementation of the city’s complex targeted youth education program “Moscow Children Sing”.


The competition is supported by the leading schools of foreign languages ​​of Moscow.

 

 

 

4. Contestants


The competition is attended by pupils of educational organizations regardless of their status and departmental affiliation, as well as lovers of singing who are not trained in any educational organizations.


Soloists and vocal groups with any number of participants are invited to participate in the competition.

 

 

5. Competition nominations


The competition is held in the following nominations:


1. Singing in French “FaSiLa Chanter”.


2. Singing in English “FaSiLa Sing”.


3. Singing in German “FaSiLa Singen”.

 

4. Singing in Italian “FaSiLa Santare”.

 

5. Singing in Spanish “FaSiLa Cantar”.


6. Singing in Russian “FaSiLa Rus”.

 

 

ATTENTION!

THE LANGUAGE OF THE SELECTED NOMINATION (NOMINATIONS) MUST NOT BE NATIVE FOR THE PARTICIPANT.

 

In each category, reviews are held in two directions:


1. Academic singing.


2. Pop singing.


 

In each direction, competitive auditions are held in the following categories:


1. Solo singing.


2. Vocal ensemble (2–11 people).


3. Vocal-choral ensemble, choir (from 12 people).


 

Each category provides for division by age groups.


I - the youngest (7-10 years),


II - medium (11-14 years),


III - the eldest (15-18 years),


IV - youthful (19–22 years old),


V - youth (23–25 years old).


 

In the categories “Vocal ensemble” and “Vocal-choral ensemble, choir” children of different ages are allowed to participate in one collective.

 

 

 

 

6. Requirements for the competitive program


At the audition, each participant (soloist or collective) performs 1 (one) work in a foreign language corresponding to the chosen nomination.

 

 

Preferred (but not required) is the selection of works, the content of which corresponds to the themes of the Moscow International Music Festival "We are for Peace!", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. Among such works are songs, the imagery and mood of which reflects the spirit of wartime, touches on modern aspects of the problems of war and peace, broadcasts the memory of the war, and tells about the significance of the Great Victory for the world community. Also recommended works include works dedicated to other significant events of world history, Days of military glory, essays about peace, friendship, happy childhood, etc.

 

 

The duration of the competition performance is no more than 3 minutes.

 

Participation in several competition nominations is encouraged.

 

Pop vocalists can perform a competitive program both under the phonogram (“minus”), and accompanied by a concertmaster or instrumental ensemble.

 

Academic vocalists can only perform a competitive program accompanied by a concertmaster or an ensemble of acoustic musical instruments. The use of phonograms is not allowed.

 

 

 

 

7. Forms of the competition

 

The competition is held in one stage in full-time or correspondence form. For contestants from Moscow, full-time participation is preferable.

With a large number of applications, additional dates for full-time auditions can be assigned.

 

The time for full-time auditions will be announced later.

 

The schedule of full-time auditions in each nomination is made no earlier than 3 days before the specified date. The performance time of each participant is agreed individually.

 

In the final gala concert of the competition, only Grand Prix owners and laureates of the 1st degree of all nominations, both full-time and correspondence participation (if possible), perform.

 

Pop vocalists perform in a gala concert accompanied by an instrumental ensemble invited by the Organizing Committee of the competition.

 

Rehearsals of the gala concert with the ensemble will be held on March 28, 29 and 30, 2020. Rehearsals will be scheduled individually. Attendance of rehearsals is mandatory!

 

 

 

 

9. The jury of the competition

 

The performances of the contest participants are evaluated by a separate jury in each nomination. The jury consists of specialists in the study of the corresponding foreign language, famous vocalists, theater and film actors.

 

 

 

 

10. Criteria for evaluating competitive performance

 

Winners of the competition are determined by the following criteria:

 

• vocal skills,

 

• language phonetics,

 

• artistry,

 

• stage movement,

 

• the harmony of the musical image and stage performance,

 

• correspondence of the chosen repertoire to the age and vocal skills of the performer.

 

 

 

 

11. Awarding of winners and participants of the competition

 

Each jury member evaluates the performance of the participant on a 10-point scale. Then the points are added up and the ranking of winners is built.

 

In each nomination, direction (pop / academic), category (soloist / ensemble / vocal-choral ensemble / choir) and age group, the following titles can be defined:

 

• The Grand Prix,

 

• laureate of the I degree,

 

• laureate of the II degree,

 

• laureate of the III degree,

 

• diploma of the I degree,

 

• diploma of the II degree,

 

• diploma of the III degree.

 

 

Special diplomas are provided:

 

• “Best vocals”,

 

• “Best Foreign Language”,

 

• “Artistry”.

 

 

The jury reserves the right to distribute not all of the listed awards.

 

 

The results of the competition will be announced on March 24, 2020 on the website of the Program “Moscow Children Sing” (http://choirsofmoscow.ru).

 

Grand Prix holders, laureates of I, II and III degrees, diploma winners of I, II and III degrees and awarded with special diplomas are awarded diplomas and souvenirs.

 

Awarding of winners (including holders of special diplomas) and presentation of diplomas of participants will take place as part of the final gala concert of the competition on March 31, 2020 in the Vegas City Hall (Moscow Region, Krasnogorsk, International Street, 12).

 

Attention! The organizing committee of the “Moscow Children Sing” program has the right to prevent participants who do not follow the general rules for attending concerts and leave the hall before the end of the event to participate in subsequent events.

 

Participant diploma is made upon individual request. Applications for the preparation of a participant’s diploma are accepted by e-mail fasila@choirsofmoscow.ru from March 24 to 27, 2020.

 

Foreign and non-resident contestants, as well as correspondence-distance contestants, will receive the diplomas of the winners and participants by the Russian Post.

 

Attention! Contestants from Moscow (both full-time and correspondence forms of participation) diplomas of winners and participants are not sent by Russian Post, e-mail or by any other means. The diplomas remaining in the Organizing Committee upon completion of all the competition events can be obtained at the Centre "Radost" (22 Mikhalkovskaya St.) by individual agreement with the project coordinators until May 31, 2020.

 

 

 

 

 

12. The procedure and deadlines for submitting documents for participation in the competition

 

 

To participate in the competition, no later than February 15, 2020, you must fill out an online application.

 

When participating in several categories: a separate application must be filled out for each category.

 

Attention! Filing an application for participation in the competition confirms the consent to the processing by the Organizing Committee of the personal information of the participants.

 

The information specified in the application will be used in the preparation of diplomas. Acknowledgments of the contest can only be noted by teachers and accompanists indicated in the application.

 

Feedback and information on the schedule of events will be carried out exclusively by phone and e-mail specified in the application.

 

For participating collectives to publish in the competition booklet, you must attach to the online application:

 

• color photo of the collective (jpeg, tiff file; at least 3 MB);

 

• a description of the collective indicating creative achievements for the period from 2017 to 2019 (Word file; text size - 2000 printed characters with spaces);

 

• color photo of the artistic director of the collective (jpeg, tiff file; at least 3 MB);

 

• a description of the artistic director with an indication of education, creative achievements for the period from 2017 to 2019 (Word file; text size - 1000 characters with spaces).

 

 

For the soloists participating in the contest booklet, it is necessary to attach to the online application:

 

• color photo of the soloist (jpeg, tiff file; at least 3 MB);

 

• a description of the soloist indicating creative achievements for the period from 2017 to 2019 (Word file; text size - 1000 characters with spaces). Also, in the description, it is necessary to additionally indicate the surname, name and patronymic (fully) of the teacher.

 

 

Participants of the virtual form must also attach a link to the video of the competitive performance to the online application.

 

 

Video recording must meet the following requirements:

 

• the leader (or the participant), before performing the competitive program, must introduce the participant, name the educational institution and the work performed;

 

• the competition program should be performed in the format of a concert performance, without stops;

 

• video recording should be made without turning off and stopping the video camera - from the beginning to the end of the performing of the competitive program (subsequent editing is not allowed);

 

Videos posted on other Internet services, or sent by e-mail, are not accepted for participation in the competition.

 

When uploading videos to YouTube, you must specify:

 

In the "Video Title" field:

 

- country

 

- city,

 

- name and surname of the soloist / name of the collective.

 

 

In the Description field:

 

- name of the competition: “FaSiLa-2020”;

 

- nomination;

 

- age of the participant / age range of the collective members;

 

- executable program;

 

- surname, name, patronymic of the teacher / collective leader.

 

 

Videos that do not meet these requirements will not be evaluated.

 

Full-time pop-up participants must attach a phonogram (“minus”) to the online application for a competitive performance.

 

Attention! Replacing a phonogram later than 7 days before the date of competitive listening is not allowed. Phonograms on electronic media provided on the day of listening are not accepted.

 

The services of accompanist are not provided.

 

The leaders of choirs and vocal ensembles must provide a list of members of the collective, which will contain the following information for each participant: first name (full), last name, year of birth, age, full name of the educational institution, class. The list is placed in the online application. Without a list, the application is invalid.

 

 

 

 

13. Entry fee for participation in the competition

 

• For soloists (participation in one nomination) - 1000 rubles; for participation in each subsequent nomination - surcharge of 300 rubles.

 

• For duets and trios (participation in one nomination) - 500 rubles from each member of the ensemble; for participation in each subsequent nomination - an additional payment of 200 rubles from each member of the ensemble.

 

• For ensembles from 4 to 11 performers (participation in one nomination) - 2000 rubles per collective; for participation in each subsequent nomination - an additional payment of 500 rubles from the collective.

 

• For groups of 12 performers and more (participation in one nomination) - 5,000 rubles per collective; for participation in each subsequent nomination - an additional payment of 1,000 rubles from the collective.

 

The discount on the entrance fee of 50% is granted to children from large families on the basis of a document confirming that the family has the right to a benefit, and children with disabilities on the basis of a disability certificate. Please check with the project coordinators for the correctness of the calculation of the entry fee for collectives taking into account the benefits of participants

 

In case of refusal to participate in the competition, the entry fee is not refundable.

 

The entry fee is refunded only in case of illness of the participant after providing a certificate or sick leave of an established sample issued by a medical institution. Specify the procedure for returning the entry fee from the project coordinators.

 

A receipt with the details for paying the entry fee is sent by e-mail specified in the application, from February 16 to February 20, 2020. Confirmation of payment is sent by e-mail in a response letter.

 

Attention! Sample receipts from previous seasons of the contest are not valid! Corrections in the receipt are not allowed!
